Miss Goodwill Hunting

With all the buzz about the cast of total babes appearing in Baz Luhrmann’s rendition of The Great Gatsy, I would like to throw Lois Chiles (as Jordan Baker) from 1974’s Gatsby in the ring. I mean, Hollywood is the land of babes, but Lois Chiles is the babiest of all the babes. Ugh.

024. formalities

this past Saturday, I went to my sorority’s formal. never in my life have I thought to join a fraternity (Kappa Alpha Theta was founded as a women’s fraternity, because the term “sorority” for Greek organizations did not exist yet). this semester, I’ve had a wonderful time getting to know some of the girls in Theta, and this event was an awesome celebration of those new friendships and all the hard work we’ve done this semester. I thought I’d share my outfit (on the right) because naturally, I got thrifty wid it.

April 24th is Denim Day in the U.S. In 1999, an Italian man’s rape conviction was appealed after a judge decided his 18-year old victim’s “very, very tight jeans and the fact that she helped him take them off” qualified as consent — regardless of the fact that he threatened to harm her and her family. Wear jeans (better yet, your tightest jeans) as a social and fashion statement against victim blaming and other misconceptions about sexual assault. 

Today, I did some table-ing with a few of my friends in the cafeteria. We made buttons (mine are pictured above) and brought a pair of jeans which about thirty people signed in support of sexual awareness — stay tuned to see how I’m going to style them, it should be interesting!
